Heidi started sailing in 2001 and after a year of racing around the cans in Plymouth Sound she bought her own 26 foot yacht.   This yacht was rarely seen in the marina for the two years she owned her as she was sailing to France, the Channel Islands, the Scillies and along the South West Coast.   Heidi slowly started collecting her tickets and in 2004 and now a Yachtmaster she left her job in the NHS to sail professionally.   Jobs have included flotilla skipper/engineer, charter skipper, delivery skipper, first mate on larger yachts and chef on luxury catamarans.   Now an Ocean Yachtmaster (MCA/RYA commercial endorsement) she has over 40,000 miles of experience including skippering a transatlantic passage and some long passage deliveries in the Mediteranean. 

Heidi experienced the joys of sailing the West Coast of Scotland in 2008 when she worked on one of the host boats for the Classic Malts Cruise.....her interest in whisky soon grew......and she also worked on a Dolphin and Whale research vessel where she saw Killer Whales.   The abundance of wildlife, challenging navigation and the magnificent scenery coupled with her interest in Whisky has led to the Whisky Cruises been offered as it is an experience she wants to share with others.

Never forgetting where her love of sailing started, one of the best sailing grounds in the UK is the South West Coastline of Devon and Cornwall..... a warmer climate, beautiful harbours, local regattas, basking sharks and great pubs are all waiting to be explored with Heidi.

The Mediterranean has many places to visit but Heidi has narrowed the areas to Croatia, Greece and Turkey because of the abundance of islands to explore.   Obviously Heidi has not sailed every port on every island in all these countries but she has visited many places and is keen to venture to new places with you.
